2. Data Privacy & Zero-Collection Policy
Your data is entirely yours. We believe in complete transparency and privacy. NATab operates under a strict zero-collection policy:
- Local Browser Storage: All settings, customization preferences, custom bookmark grids, notes, to-do list items, priority badges, and timezone clocks are saved locally on your device via Chrome Extension Storage (
chrome.storage.local). We do not have access to this data.
- No External Transmission: NATab does not transmit your search queries, notes, checklist items, browsing history, IP address, or any other information to our servers or any third-party databases.
- No Analytics Tracking: We do not use Google Analytics, cookies, tracking pixels, or any telemetry tools inside the extension. Your browsing patterns remain entirely private.
3. Third-Party Services & API Operations
NATab interacts with external APIs solely to run specific, user-requested settings:
- Pixabay API: If you use the custom wallpaper search option in the settings menu to download/apply custom background pictures, the extension communicates directly with Pixabay's API to retrieve the photos. No personal identifiers are shared. This communication is governed by Pixabay's own Privacy Policy.
- Chrome Web Store: Our landing page links to the Google Chrome Web Store to facilitate installing the extension. Any interactions, reviews, or installations are subject to Google's standard Privacy Policy.
4. Permissions Explanation
NATab requests only one permission in its manifest, which is the bare minimum required to function:
storage: Required to write and read your custom dashboard configurations, lists, clocks, and notes locally in your browser. Without this permission, your setups would reset every time you closed the browser.
5. Children's Privacy
Because NATab does not collect, record, or share any personal information whatsoever, it is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and is safe for users of all ages.
